Richmond and Hounslow composting champions

We’re looking for enthusiastic members of the public to help spread the word about composting and greener living in Hounslow and Richmond by joining our composting champion scheme.

You’ll help us at public events by providing expert advice to residents who are interested in finding out about home composting and how it relates to gardening. You’ll meet lots of people face to face and have the opportunity to work with enthusiastic community groups in your borough.

We’ll provide you with free in-depth training on composting courtesy of local composting expert Paul Richens – this will also include a really useful session on how to be a confident public speaker. You’ll receive support from local environmental group the South West London Environment Network every step of the way and we’ll cover reasonable expenses. To thank you for your support, we will provide free pairs of tickets to visit Kew Gardens at a time of your choosing.

The training will be delivered over two half-days, provisionally on the mornings of Saturday 14th and 21st April, at a community centre in Richmond. The main outreach events will take place during Compost Awareness Week between the 5th and the 12th May. Some events may take place during the week so availability during the day will definitely be a bonus.

If you’re interested, in the first instance contact us.
